Occupational Therapy
Your child may experience difficulty with specific motor movements, motor planning, and/or managing their body in space. If this is the case, our occupational therapists will work with your child on creating an individualized plan with objectives that incorporate practice routines designed to target the areas of concern.
Individualized Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy allows individuals to do the activities they want and need to do. Occupational therapy is provided by an occupational therapist, or OT, who will conduct an evaluation with input from you, and develop individualized goals toward meaningful everyday activities.Â
Occupational Therapy is cuurently provided at our ABA Center in Freehold, New Jersey
Freehold, New Jersey Center:
Get Moving
By addressing physical limitations through adaptive teaching techniques, occupational therapy enhances individuals’ quality of life and supports them in achieving their fullest independent potential.
Occupational therapy considers the following for each client:
- Contexts and environments
- Activity demands
- Performance patterns: habits, routines, rituals
- Performance skills: motor, processing, social interaction
High-Quality Occupational Therapy
HL’s OTs collect data on each client’s current goals every session in order to easily see and monitor progress throughout the lifespan of services. We let the client’s data tell us how to move forward or make changes to our treatment methods, which leads to high-quality services. Parents are able to monitor their child’s goals and progress along with the clinician in real-time.
Collaboration Is Key
Clients receiving multiple services in our center have the added benefit of ongoing professional collaboration. While under one roof, clinicians from each discipline consult and collaborate with one another so the client can make better gains.
Making Occupational Therapy Fun!
Licensed occupational therapists work closely with the child and their family to assess the child’s developmental milestones, sensory processing, motor skills, and any specific difficulties they may face. Based on this assessment, therapists design personalized treatment plans and interventions that address the child’s specific goals, whether they involve improving fine and gross motor skills, sensory integration, self-care abilities, or academic performance. The therapy sessions are child-centered, engaging, and adapted to the child’s age and interests, making learning and progress enjoyable.
This approach not only helps children overcome barriers to their daily activities but also empowers them to build confidence, independence, and the skills necessary to thrive and participate fully in their everyday lives. Individualized occupational therapy for kids is a valuable tool in promoting their development and enhancing their overall well-being.
