Hybridge Learning Group is well-versed in providing school-based services. We provide multiple levels of support for public and private schools in delivering the most effective educational services from pre-K through high school for students displaying challenging behaviors. We can help with needs related to individual students, whole classrooms, and on a district level involving multiple schools through consultation, direct assistance, and professional development/training. All services are provided by highly trained BCBAs who utilize the principles of applied behavior analysis and have experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities, as well as staff.
The difference that HLG brings is that many of our school district BCBAs were former teachers. They know the nuances of a classroom. Our school district BCBAs are efficient, effective, and knowledgeable. What you won’t get is a consultant who disregards a teacher’s natural talents and efforts. We work with the educators to enhance their strengths and develop areas of deficit. We work extremely hard to seamlessly integrate ABA practices and principles into an educator’s standing routine. Experience Helping Educators
Our BCBAs and consultants are experienced in helping educators get the most out of their learners in both special education and general education classrooms.
School-based services will include BCBA consultation, supervision of ABA programs, and behavior skills training. BCBA consultation may include professional development workshops for district teachers/paraprofessionals, individual student behavior intervention plans, class-wide behavior management strategies, and implementation of IEP goals and objectives. The HLG BCBA will create a support schedule that meets the needs of the district and district staff.
Professional Development may be didactic or hands-on training provided to professionals in the field of ABA, or in a related field, to develop their knowledge and skill base in a general or particular area of ABA. HLG offers professional development workshops on topics including but not limited to Principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, ABCs of Behavior Management, Inclusive Classroom Management, IEP Goal Planning/Implementing, Person-Centered Transition Planning, and Language, Communication, and Behavior. Often, we are able to customize specific, unique instructional workshops based on the needs of the district. Each participant will leave a workshop with information that can immediately be incorporated into the classroom.
Assessments play a crucial role in a student’s educational lifespan. HLG conducts skill-based assessments to assist staff in IEP goal planning. Comprehensive assessments can be used to monitor a student’s progress in meeting developmental milestones.
The first step in developing a valid behavior intervention program is to determine why the problem behavior(s) occurs. The functional behavior assessment, or FBA, is vital in determining which intervention(s) to implement in order to effectively decrease problem behaviors and promote alternative constructive behaviors.
Behavior Plan Development
Using a functional behavior assessment (FBA) and other data-gathering techniques, BCBAs work collaboratively with teachers, other school staff, and parents to develop behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and effective systems of reinforcement to help the student achieve meaningful objectives. Training can be provided to those implementing the plan to assure the efficacy of recommended interventions.
