HLG is a group of special education professionals dedicated to providing outstanding intervention services to children with special needs including, but not limited to, Autism and Asperger’s Disorder.  Our goal is to help each learner actualize his/her talents and potential.  We work towards meeting this goal by:

  • supporting the development of educators and professionals through presentations, workshops and hands-on training
  • providing direct instruction and consultation service to learners with autism and other developmental disabilities through program development and management.

To this end, we only align ourselves with best practices in the field of psychology by utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to guide all consulting, training and intervention services we render.

Our professional development services target the ongoing need for quality training and awareness regarding students with developmental disabilities.  Our aim is to bridge the gap between theory and practice by helping educators apply practical solutions to common classroom concerns.  We accomplish this task through presentations and workshops on a variety of topics; but more important, through hands-on, real-time training in the classroom or other educational setting.  Confident, informed teachers and professionals are invaluable to any educational program.

Our student support services consist of developing and managing individualized programs in the areas of communication, play skills, academic/school readiness skills, behavior management, social skills and community skills.  Furthermore, we provide hands-on training for the entire family.  It is our belief that effective intervention not only occurs through structured programming but through a well-adjusted family lifestyle that provides ample opportunity for the learner to practice targeted skills.
